Pure Religion

How the work of our hands and small gestures create outlets for our attention to reveal our affections.

The Story

From mixing to baking, cooking requires careful attention.

What began as a recruitment pitch became a revelation — where our hands lead, our attention often lies. Feeding her family was a conduit for love. Now, she feeds a foster family — A simple act of devotion that reveals care, loss and love.

What We Discovered

Love diverted, is love continued

The love of a family departed and dispersed, becomes an opportunity to serve others who need love.

Craft

Observation

The camera stayed close to ordinary gestures, letting the work reveal the person without pressing for explanation.

Pacing

The edit favored pauses, glances, and unfinished sentences where the emotional rhythm could breathe.

Finish

A warm, evening sun and a polished, modern palette set the table. Kitchen sounds — chopping, mixing, boiling — invite us into the story.

Outcome

The ordinary became the invitation.

What began as a recruitment film became something stronger: an invitation to recognize that care is often expressed through ordinary acts of attention, and that those same acts can be extended to families who need them.
